Babol, known as Baharnarenj city, is one of the cities of Mazandaran province.
This city is located between Mazandaran sea and Alborz mountain range.
The people of this city are of Tabari ethnicity.
Babol has a significant population and in the past, because of the trade and passage of merchants and traders in this city, it was called a merchant.
This city has more than 20 universities and higher education institutes and the most important university of this city is Noshirvani University of Technology.
It is also the first city in the north of the country where the National University of Medical Sciences was established.
The location of this city in the center of Mazandaran has doubled the importance of this city's location.
The tourist city of Babolsar and the Mazandaran sea are located in the north of this city, which is another reason for the importance of this city's location.
Babol can be connected to the sea by various ways, the most important of which is the Babol-Babolsar highway, which starts from the north of Babol city and continues to the Babolsar coastal road after passing 8 kilometers.

Muhammad Hassan Khan Bridge can be mentioned as the most important historical place in Babylon. which is related to the 12th century and is one of the works of the Qajar period, which is located on the Babol river.
One of the highlights of this bridge is the Safavid architecture of the building and the use of egg white in its construction.

Among other historical places of this city, we can mention caravanserais, Shapur Palace, Babylon Watch Tower, Treasure Museum, Seyed Kabir Tomb, Mirza Yusuf Old Bath and Chaharsouk Mosque.
